The
opulence, splendor and lavish lifestyle of the princely states were
reflected in the style of carriages built for royal use. But this
luxurious mode of travel was not the sole preserve of the Rajas.
The British rulers in India, the governors of states, the Viceroy,
visiting royalty, all traveled in extremely opulent conditions.
In fact one of the first luxury coaches built was for the Governor
of Bombay in 1863. |
