Ranthambore Travel
Situated in Eastern Rajasthan, where the Aravali Hill ranges and
the Vindhyan plateau meet, the Ranthambore National Park was once
the hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur. The rivers Chambal
in the South and Banas in the North bound the Ranthambore National
ParkThe park is famous for tigers and due to conservation efforts,
the tiger population has stabilized if not increased here. The tigers
can be spotted quite often even during the day, at their normal pursuits--
hunting and taking care of their young ones. Ranthambore is one of

| Ranthambore Fort & Jogi Mahal : With a coverage area
of 392-sq-kms, this park got its name from the Ranthambore Fort,
which sits on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the Park. The fort,
which dates back to the 10th century and is probably the oldest
existing fort in Rajasthan, was a vital citadel for control of Central
India and particularly the Malwa plateau.The entry point to the
Ranthambore National Park, goes straight to the foot of the fort
and the forest rest house, Jogi Mahal. The latter boasts of the
second-largest Banyan tree in India |

to the nearby places of historical importance is a must.
Sawai Madhopur village: , which is the entry point to many
of the nearby important destination is one of its kind. The village
is known for its many historical monuments and related legends that
you can find in these small and big structures.
Karauli :is another place famous for its temples and architectural
marvels. Likewise,
Bundi, Kota and Tonk :are the three other important paces to
visit during your excursion. The places assume importance because
of their historical significance, many beautiful gardens, temples
and the cross cultural influence present in these places due to
various invasions and settling of a different communities here. |

wildlife sanctuary.
- Rail : Ranthambore National Park is around 11-kms away
from Sawai Madhopur railway station, that lies on the Delhi to
Bombay trunk route.
- Road : A good network of buses connect Sawai Madhopur,
the nearest town from Ranthambore to all the major cities within
the state of Rajasthan.
